Rape Allegation; Cristiano Ronaldo Must Return To Live In Portugal To Avoid Extradition.

American officials can demand the extradition of Cristiano Ronaldo on a European arrest warrant, a legal expert claims.
But one way the football superstar could avoid facing a US court on rape allegations would be to return to his native Portugal because the warrant can’t be used for suspects living in their own country.
Professor Emilio Cortes, a leading Spanish lawyer, said: “The rules in Europe and the US are different – and the American authorities have the possibility to solicit the extradition of Ronaldo unless he is in Portugal.”
The warning comes a week after Las Vegas police reopened an investigation into allegations by Kathryn Mayorga, 34, that she was raped by Ronaldo in June 2009.
The lawyer’s advice has far-reaching implications for the striker, who joined Italian club Juventus in a four-year £105million deal in July.
He could end up playing out his career in Portugal.
Cortes also claimed the £288,000 payment made in 2010 to buy Ms Mayorga’s silence would be seen in the US as “an explicit acknowledgement of having committed the crime”.
The latest move came as Ms Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Stovall, says he “potentially” has three more claims surrounding the ex-Manchester United player.
Ronaldo’s mum Dolores and sister Katia have posted pics of him in a Superman cape asking fans to show support for “justice”.
The 33-year-old has told his 75 million social media followers: “I firmly deny the accusations.”

‘I Slept With Her Because She’s Beautiful’, Spiritualist Who Scammed Woman Millions Of Naira. Photos

A Nigerian lady based in Europe has fallen for a scam plotted under the cloak of divination. As a result, a suspected Islamic cleric, Imam Balogun Morufu and three others identified as Babatunde Richard, Adedoyin Idowu, Olayemi Olayinka are now telling the police how they succeeded in defrauding the Germany-based businesswoman simply identified as Angela.
Angela who recently relocated to Nigeria after 11 years abroad parted with over N81.78 million in her quest to double her wealth. According to a police source, sometime in January, Babatunde, a dismissed police officer who was in Benin for a business transaction learnt that Angela was having issues abroad and her mother felt that the only way to solve the problem was to approach a spiritualist for help.
Babatunde who is a fraudster decided to share the contract of defrauding Angela and family with his seniors in the job. He contacted Morufu who laid down a perfect plan on how to lure them into their trap. The story line was that they have the power to double her wealth.
Unfortunately before Angela realized that she was dealing with fraudsters, she had parted with more than N81 million part of which was meant to buy materials for spiritual cleansing. One of such was that the supposed spiritual leader, Morufu will have sex with her in their shrine at Sango Ota in Ogun State and Ibadan, Oyo State.
As soon as it dawned on her that she was gradually becoming poor, Angela alerted the police. All the members of the syndicate were arrested at their various locations in Oyo and Ogun by detectives attached to the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) days after their latest victim petitioned the police.
I slept with her because she is beautiful
The leader of the syndicate, Balogun Morufu aged 50, in his confession at the police station said that it is very easy to defraud a man or woman in need. This he discovered as an Islamic cleric who owns a shrine where people with issues across the country come to consult him for prayers.
“I am the Imam in-charge of a mosque in Ibadan and a small shrine in Sango. By the grace of God, a lot of people used to consult me whenever they have issues. I would recommend herbs and also pray for them but my major challenge was that people will not give you money except you instill fear in them.
“Several years ago, some fraudsters came and sold an idea how I can make good money as an Imam and just as they said I was paid about N1 million. This was how I started. Sometime in February this year, one of my contractors, Olayinka called me that he has a job for me. He said that there is a desperate woman that we need to defraud. We put a call across to her mother because she was the one who contacted the herbalist on behalf of the daughter. It was later that I got to know that her name is Angela.
“Her mother told us that her daughter is based abroad and making a lot of money, yet a particular couple in Benin is in-charge of all her investments. She remits most of the money she made abroad to the couple. Her mother wanted the herbalist to perform magic that will free the daughter from those people. When I learnt about the case, I knew they were desperate and will part with any amount of money. I put a call across to the mother and told her that the herbalist consulted earlier has no power. I lied to her that it was the spirit of ‘God’ that sent me to her. I told her that the spirit of death is hovering around her family and her children will die one after the other.”
Days later, Angela, her mother and his brother travelled down to Morufu’s shrine in Sango to seek spiritual guidance. “She later called and promised to come to Sango and see us. She came with her daughter Angela and two other persons. We washed their heads before attending to them. By merely washing their heads, they were already terrified. Her mother insisted that she wanted us to kill the couple that is disturbing her daughter from progressing. I took them to Idowu’s shrine where prayers were offered. I deliberately refused to collect money from them so that they will be convinced that I am real.
“I was able to convince her to forget about that and concentrate on making her daughter Angela richer. I told them that there is ‘pot of life’ that can double any amount of money. They left that day and promised to call us back. Sometime in May, her mother called that I should come to Benin, that she is interested in my suggestion. I travelled down to their house in Benin with my boy Olayinka and my driver. After praying with the entire family, I asked them to prepare a room where the pot of life will be kept. I told them to put the amount they want the spirit of money to double. I was so excited when they placed foreign currency in the pot. While I was praying over the pot, I quickly collected the money and hid them in my underwear. I told them not to open the pot until the third day.
“It was on our way back to Lagos that I counted the money and discovered that it was 99,000 Euro. This is our biggest catch since we started this business.”
Three days later, Angela and her family members opened the room and discovered that the pot was empty. “I knew that they will call me so I prepared myself to make more money from them. As soon as they discovered that the money was missing, they called me and I told them that some red and black witches intercepted the money on the way and seized them.
“I told them that we needed to perform a sacrifice in Ibadan and Lagos. They paid another 34,000 Euro to purchase things that can never be found in the market. I also asked Angela to come for cleansing and during that time I slept with her. She is a beautiful woman so I took advantage of her desperation to have free sex. I told her that it was part of the processes that she needed to undergo before her money will return in double. We kept collecting and collecting that I cannot recall how much was taken in all. It was when we got to the police station that we calculated everything and discovered that it was more than N80 million.”
On how his own share was expended, Morufu said he spent most of the money in building a house. “I used my share of the money to build a duplex at my town in Ibadan. I have not completed the building when police arrested me. I have been in this business for several years. We do not have any type of power that can harm anyone. If we have power, the police will not be able to arrest us. The secret is that if you watch how desperate your target is, you can lure them to spend money especially the women. They are ready to have sex with you as long as they find solution to their problem. The easiest are those looking for husband and children. We do not hypnotize anyone; it is the desperation to recover their money that make them to continue spending.”
Why I allowed Imam Morufu have sex with me
Their latest victim Angela said she cannot explain how they were able to defraud her despite her experience abroad. “I have lived in Germany for the past four years after I relocated from Italy where I spent seven years. I came back with the sole intention to start a business and only travel abroad for vacation. There were issues which my family especially my mother felt will need spiritual cleansing. My mother suggested that we should go for family cleansing and since it was for the good of the family, I agreed.
“They told me about the ‘pot of life’ and I agreed since the process is simple: put money in a pot in my house and it will double. When the money disappeared, they started giving one reason or the other why it disappeared and what I should do to recover the money. Apart from the 99,000 Euro that was collected from the pot, the others were paid into the account of Olayinka who claimed that he is also a herbalist. Morufu their leader also had sex with me severally in the name of spiritual cleansing. I felt terrible but I had to allow him have his way because of my family.”
Apart from the 99,000 Euro that was taken from her, Angela said that she was asked to bring things that cannot be bought in the market. Since she could not buy them, she had to convert it to cash. “Some of the things they asked me to buy include Gorilla, Chimpanzee, seven horses and a certain bird that can only be found in Morocco. I was told to bring 12 of that bird. Before I realized what was happening, I have spent more than N81 million. The total amount is N81, 780,000. I believe they used voodoo on me. I was even suspecting that my brothers had a hand in it till they were arrested. My plea is for police to help me to recover my money.”

World recalls iconic events surrounding the 1968 Olympics 50 years after

Fifty years after their protest in Mexico City, John Carlos and Tommie Smith have endured as symbols of dissent, even as their paths diverged. Photo: Sports Illustrated

Former Olympic athletes lit a commemorative cauldron Friday to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Games in Mexico City, a symbol of a worldwide year of turbulent times.
In a year of revolt and upheaval, the Mexico City Olympics brought the worlds of sport and politics crashing together — and broadcast the collision live around the globe on color television for the first time.
It was the year that Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were assassinated. A year of student protests that exploded in Berlin and Paris and spread around the world. The year the US began to truly question the Vietnam War, and the USSR crushed the Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia.
At the Olympics, it was the year of George Foreman, Mark Spitz, Dick Fosbury and his famous “Fosbury Flop,” Bob Beamon’s “Leap of the Century,” Tommie Smith and John Carlos with their iconic Black Power salute — and so many more.
Fosbury and Beamon returned to the Olympic stadium Friday to take part in a procession where veterans of the 1968 Games marched in formation to form the Olympic rings.
Mexican sprinter Enriqueta Basilio, who became the first woman to light the Olympic cauldron at those Games, then symbolically re-lit the flame to a burst of applause.
Luis Armida, who organized the opening ceremony, recalled that moment five decades ago.
“This tall, slim girl appeared. She wasn’t running, she was flying. Every step looked like a gazelle’s,” he told AFP.
Now aged 70, Basilio — like all the athletes — was a bit less gazelle-like, but gamely waited atop the steps leading to the cauldron as a succession of torch-bearers passed the flame up to her.
– Fraught memories –
The anniversary has brought fraught memories for Mexico, where the winds of change were also blowing in 1968.
At the time, capitalizing on the international attention brought by Latin America’s first Games, Mexican students took to the streets to call for democratic change after four decades of one-party rule.
On the night of October 2, 10 days before the opening ceremony, army troops opened fire on 8,000 peaceful demonstrators in the Plaza of Three Cultures, in the Tlatelolco neighborhood of Mexico City.
Independent reports say anywhere from 300 to 500 people were killed.
– Powerful platform –
Hushed up by the Mexican government, the massacre is little-remembered abroad.
But it was certainly noticed by the generation of young, politicized athletes making their way to Mexico City, including talented African American sprinters Smith and Carlos.
They have both cited the crackdown as one of the influences for their defiant protest atop the podium on October 16, 1968, after Smith won gold in the men’s 200m — becoming the first person to run the race in under 20 seconds — as Carlos claimed bronze.
On the podium, the pair thrust their black-gloved fists into the air as the national anthem played, a defiant protest against racism in the United States and human rights violations worldwide.
“I came to Mexico City to make a statement. Not to win medals,” Carlos said on a recent visit to Mexico City.
– Records shattered –
Their former teammate Wyomia Tyus, who won gold in the women’s 100m and 4x100m — publicly dedicating the latter to Smith and Carlos — said the Olympic Village was electrified by the politically charged climate of the time.
“There was so much unrest going on in the world that we all had to pay attention to it,” she said recently.
Other protests included that by Czechoslovakian gymnast Vera Caslavska, who won silver in the floor exercise and defiantly bowed her head as the Soviet anthem played for gold medalist Larisa Petrik — recalling how Moscow’s tanks had crushed her country’s nascent opening.
But the Games were also stunning as pure sport.
Mexico City’s high altitude — 2,300 meters (7,545 feet) — led to scores of broken records in the thin air: 30 world records and 76 Olympic records.
The most impressive may be American Beamon’s 8.9-meter long jump — still an Olympic record.
Or perhaps it was his compatriot Fosbury’s 2.24-meter high jump, using the “backward” technique that was mocked at the time — but revolutionized the sport.

Obasanjo lobbying US to lift Atiku’s travel ban – APC

The All Progressives Congress has said it has received credible reports that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has made moves to get the United States of America to lift an alleged travel ban on former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
Acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena said this in a statement, in Abuja, on Friday.
According to him, the ex-President has made moves to secure United States entry visa for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku, whose candidacy he endorsed on Thursday.
The APC said it learnt that Obasanjo who during and after leaving office as president insisted on Atiku’s unsuitability to govern Nigeria based on his knowledge of the latter’s extensive corrupt practices while he served as Vice President, is lobbying US authorities to withdraw the ban reportedly placed on Atiku from entering the US.
Nabena alleged that the ban was placed on the former Vice President following a 2005 $500,000 bribery scandal that involved Atiku, his fourth wife, Jennifer and former United States Congressman, William Jefferson.
He said, “Recall that the former president while in office had deployed enormous resources of the country on a global dragnet coordinated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in getting Atiku prosecuted for corrupt enrichment and money laundering.
“A report by the United States Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Senator Carl Levin reported that Atiku used offshore companies to syphon millions of dollars to his fourth wife in the United States, Jennifer while still the vice president of Nigeria between 2000 and 2008.
“The report further stated that then President Bush had on the strength of his report, barred Atiku and other corrupt politically-exposed persons from being issued visa to the United States, a reason for which he has been unable to travel to the United States till date.
The APC spokesperson also said, “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s intervention in Alhaji Abubakar Atiku’s ban from the United States of America is evidence of Obasanjo’s legendary hypocrisy and self-serving interest in national affairs.

Rescue Leah Sharibu before Boko Haram’s deadline expires, NCAN begs Buhari

•Leah (left) and mother

The Chairman of the Northern Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Yakubu Pam, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to do everything within his powers to rescue Leah Sharibu before the deadline that was given by the Boko Haram insurgents for negotiations expires.
He also appealed to the insurgents to release Sharibu and other captives, stating that their families are in agony.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Friday, in company with other NCAN members, Pam expressed the fear that the abducted Dapchi schoolgirl might be executed as threatened by Boko Haram.
“We have heard what the abductors have said, we are here together as religious leaders and traditional rulers to appeal to the conscience of the abductors of these innocent girls.
“We heard next week is the deadline to execute the girls but we don’t know, but we are here to make an appeal to them and we pray that God speaks to their heart so that they can release these innocent girls,” Pam pleaded.
The NCAN expressed hope that the federal government would negotiate with the insurgents for the release of all victims in Boko Haram captivity.
“We are hoping that government will do everything in her powers to release her(Sharibu) because she is still being held only on account of her refusal to renounce her faith,” Pam added.
The Imam, Apo legislative quarters mosque, Sheik Mohammed Khalid, wondered why Sharibu was being held on account of her faith, describing the situation as unfortunate.
He said, “We are appealing to them to release those in their captivity especially, Leah Sharibu, We are worried about her in particular because she was abducted with other children, but why should she be left behind, that’s our problem.”

Pay Omo-Agege his entitlements or appear in court, judge warns Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege
The Federal High Court on Thursday warned the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over the imprisonment proceedings initiated against him by the Delta-Central senator, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Omo-Agege had initiated the committal proceedings praying that Saraki be sent to prison as punishment for flouting the May 10 judgment of the court which ordered him (Omo-Agege) to be reinstated from illegal suspension and be paid all his accrued benefits for the period of the voided suspension.
The hearing of the committal proceedings was scheduled for Thursday, but the alleged contemnor and his lawyers were absent from court.
Ruling on a request by Omo-Agege’s lawyer, Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), to have the committal application heard despite the absence of the defence, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba said he was more inclined to giving the Senate President another chance to “remedy the alleged wrong” or appear in court to defend himself.
Justice Dimgba noted that the application was truly “ripe for hearing,” as argued by Izinyon, as the court’s records showed that Saraki had been served with the motion on notice and hearing notice for the Thursday’s proceedings via a newspaper publication of September 25, 2018 as earlier ordered by the court.
The judge, however, said he would give Saraki another chance to remedy the alleged wrong or appear in court to defend himself.
He also directed Izinyon to write the Senate President and the legal department of the Senate, informing them of the adjournment of the proceedings till October 18.

See The Real Reasons Pastor Chris’ Ex-Wife Was Absent At Daughter’s Wedding

There has been speculations over the absence of the ex-wife of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Anita at her daughter, Sharon’s wedding over the weekend.
A source at Christ Embassy revealed that she was not stopped from attending the occasion by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Gateway News had reported that Sharon, got wedded to her lover, Phillip Frimpong, over the weekend with her mother absent at the event.
A source has opened up on the reason behind Anita’s decision, after rumours were making rounds that she was hindered by the clergyman.
She must have felt left out of everything since Sharon lived with her dad,” the source told Kemiashefonlovehaven.
The wedding was more of a Christ Embassy ‘event’ and everyone was present. Maybe she would have felt uncomfortable with the members and pastors around.
“Not only that, the Oyakhilome family were all present and she might have felt funny what with the drama she pulled before and after the divorce.”
Speaking further, the source dismissed reports that she (Anita) was stopped from attending the wedding by her former lover.
It’s not possible for the man of God to have done that,” the source added.
He is a peace-loving person and even if such happened, Anita, who is known to have been vocal since the divorce took place, must have taken to social media to express herself.

“I think she just didn’t feel up to handling what would have happened at the event.
